By Car:

From Hartford:
Take I-91 South to exit 3 (Trumbull Street). At the bottom of the ramp, turn left onto Orange Street. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Grove Street. Woolsey Hall is three blocks further along on Grove Street on the left side of the intersection of Grove and College Streets.  Before you reach Woolsey Hall, you may consider parking at the Grove Street Parking Garage on your right (65 Grove Street).

From Fairfield County and New York State via I-95:
Take I-95 North to I-91 North (signs for Hartford); continue to exit 3 (Trumbull Street). At the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Orange Street. From New London:

From Derby:
Follow Route 34 (Derby Avenue) into New Haven. A block and a half past  Ella Grasso Boulevard, take the right fork; Derby Ave becomes George Street. Follow George Street to Church Street (Macy's Department was formerly on this corner). Turn left onto Church Street. Continue to Wall Street (one block past the New Haven Green) and turn right. At the stop sign take a left onto Orange Street. At the first light take a left onto Grove Street. Woolsey Hall is three blocks further along on Grove Street on the left side of the intersection of Grove and College Streets.  Before you reach Woolsey Hall, you may consider parking at the Grove Street Parking Garage on your right (65 Grove Street).

By Train:

Greyhound provides reliable bus service to New Haven from many major metropolitan locations.

By Plane:

The two closest airports are Bradley International Airport (serving Greater Hartford and Springfield in Windsor Locks, CT) and Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport.

Tweed Airport is located in New Haven and is serviced by U.S. Airways.

Parking

There are a number of parking options available for Woolsey Hall.  Because parking adjacent to the hall is extremely limited, please plan to arrive early to allow for time to locate parking and walk to the hall.

Street Parking

Street parking is available on campus, including College Street and Grove Street. However, please be aware that parking on Wall Street between College and High is not open to the general public.  If you park before 7 p.m. in an on-street metered space, please be certain to feed the meters. 

Yale Parking Lots

Most Yale lots are open to the public after 4 pm. The nearest Yale lot is Lot 51 (Hendrie North), accessible at 312 Temple Street, between Wall and Elm Streets.

Commercial Parking Lots

There are a number of pay lots within a few blocks of Woolsey Hall:

GROVE ST GARAGE: On Grove near Whitney (LAZ Parking)
CENTURY TOWER: Church St, near Grove (LAZ Parking)

LAZ Parking will be offering a $7 flat event rate in the Grove Street and Century Tower parking lots. In order to receive this rate, you will need to show your MARK MY WORDS ticket or program when exiting the garage.

Handicapped Parking

There are many metered spots reserved for handicapped parking around Sprague Hall, Woolsey Hall, and W.L. Harkness Hall. Parking on these spots requires possession of a disabled license plate or disabled parking permit. One metered parking spot is reserved for handicapped drivers directly in front of Sprague Hall on College Street, and another is located across the intersection on Wall Street. An additional six spots are located on High Street between Grove and Wall; these provide the easiest access to Woolsey Hall.

Bicycle Racks

There are many bicycle racks in the vicinity of Sprague Hall, Woolsey Hall, and W.L. Harkness Hall. Several bike racks are located on Cross Campus between Elm and Wall: one is located next to the Bass Library north entrance on Wall St across from Beinecke Plaza, and another is located next to the Bass Library south entrance on Elm Street across from Old Campus. Bike racks are also available at the southeast and southwest entrances to W.L. Harkness Hall, in front of the entrance to Sterling Memorial Library, in the Beinecke Plaza near the Calder sculpture, and at the front entrance to Woolsey Hall at the intersection of College and Grove.
